I travel lots, both for work and personal, I need a GPS for maps, I need a cellular connection for data, email and texting, calling. I need a PC for work software that has some graphics capability, Core M would suffice. A cell phone screen is small for GPS as I always find myself using two hands so I can hold and zoom, I need 8" minimum. I need the data chip to be unlocked, around here if you travel out of country the roaming charges are killer, especially for data. I need a front and a rear camera, well need the rear one for taking photos, I would like the front facing camera as well. I need the device to be ultra portable so it can be easily taken with me and have a long battery life. I need it to have great speakers, microphone for voice calling apps and music. I need it to have a headset jack do I can make calls in a noisy environment. I have emailed manufacturers before, started doing that about 6 years ago, no answer. Personally I believe they are enjoying the status quo, sell lots of devices, why make one that does everything? It just cuts into sales. That would be like why make a car that doesn't need repairs?
I have an 8 year old bulky 17" laptop with a sim card slot, another newer work laptop with Windows for my work software. I have a cell phone for texting, calling, pictures (I sometimes need pictures for work reasons). I have an 8" Android tablet for GPS. I'm going nuts with way too many devices. Why is it a $50 android device can have GPS and I can't find hardly any Windows device with it? Haha, I wish I had known about the T1 but this will make up for it!
So far the PF sounds amazing, solves all my needs in one device! I definitely want the GPS, WiFi, Cellular. I'm cool with the Intel Core M that's been chosen, i5 would be cool too but battery life is way more important. It has to be portable but readable. It has to be sunlight readable. I'm good with the 12" screen but hoping for bezel less to keep it small and portable but still able to read the screen. Style wise I also think the Dell XPS 13 is cool but if it were 2 in 1, have the GPS and cellular I'm sold. I'll guarantee at least one sale. Make it t a great price and I know that coworkers would be so jealous and you would have a winner with everyone I work with. I could even ditch the phone, there are apps for texting and calling.
As for docking station, sure, okay but don't spend much on it. There are generic ones that would work. I don't expect the PF to come with one as it sounds like a second keyboard has already been ruled out due to cost. Keep it elegant and simple for design. Quality screen and display is important IMO.
I really like the feature list Antony Terence made, I would add the generous amount of ram to that list. It rocks.
