Whew, couldn't find the reply button anywhere yesterday.
Here are my thoughts on the matter:
Suggestion: Updated display controller if Sharp panel allows, to allow for up to 120hz refresh rates.
Interesting idea, depending on the power draw and longevity and more importantly, the cost which might vary significantly from 60hz, might be possible to achieve but there might be more drawbacks then benefits to consider.
I'm not comfortable with a GPS mostly because you can already implement google maps into the tablet and sync your phone's internet to the tablet to achieve a workaround GPS. If you built the GPS directly into the tablet, the power draw is immense. Having a GPS on your phone and tablet becomes redundant.
Internal Hardware (spec changes)
Suggestion: 1 TB storage for the i7 model and/or 500 GB for the i5
Why not have a 1TB storage for the i5 as well as i7?
I can tell that the i5 is equally as popular if not more so than the i7 largely due to the cpu being the sweetspot between power consumption and performance.
Suggestion: Wireless Charging
This would be a good one. Future proof concept where one day, we will do away with power cables.
Suggestion: Bigger battery
Absolutely! I would like to see at least another 2 hours extra on the V if possible.
Suggestion: Switch to new Intel CPU with Iris 640 graphics
New cpu will always be more efficient than older models, that would definitely help with battery life.
Suggestion: Windows Hello Front Camera
Hell no. I would rather not see a suspect "facial profiling" camera no doubt riddled with malware and malicious code which never turns off even if you disable the webcam. You'll see about a 30% drop in battery life as a result of a biometric authentication camera constantly defying the users command to shut off. I am also leery of windows backdoors which allow certain parties to monitor you with a 24/7 camera profiling every pimple and blemish on your face
Suggestion: Better Rear Camera
If I want to snap a photo, I can simply use my phone or canon camera. No need to reduce the battery life even further in my opinion.
Suggestion: Firmware changes to support a pre-boot on-screen keyboard (for BitLocker)
I would not recommend this....at all. Adding firmware changes to pre-boot on-screen keyboard could prevent other types of system encryption software from interacting at bios. For example, Truecrypt Bootloader or Veracrypt bootloader could stop working altogether which can be a bad thing.
Also, BitLocker has several backdoors which doesn't make it the ideal encryption program to use in this technical era.
Suggestion: Slot for Kensington lock (on the kickstand?)
Redundant, at best.
Suggestion: LED indicator on the keyboard for fn-lock and caps-lock
This is a good idea. A visual que would help when using those keys.
