Note : re-edit of the initial post as I just noticed that somehow @Kperttul did totally change it without asking nor bringing a valid answer/solution… thanks to not do this again
I wanted to ask this by MP, but then thought that maybe somebody in the community could help also.
As I was living in Japan when I joined the campaign as an EB, I was expecting to receive a V in Japanese. I also did request the Japanese keyboard, which, while not standard, is a must for me. However for the unfortunate reason that we all know, it got delayed and should now come by end of November. However in the meantime I had to move to Germany recently. I now thus expect to receive a V in… German. This is the starting point of my issue
Some will immediately say “who cares, you can select your language in Windows”.
Well, yes but not completely. Basically the Windows interface will be in the selected language, however deep inside, the system remain into its original installation’s language it seems. This is how a PC that I have purchased in Japan, for example, will display most menus in English, however all update related or system related messages (included the power-down, restart,…) remain in Japanese. As such this is no issue (although if anyone has an idea how to solve, I am happy to listen ).
Now my issue is actually coming from the Japanese keyboard support. With my Japanese PC, no issue whatever the language selected for the system. Whether it is wired or Bluetooth, all keyboards are working fine.
However I have noticed that with a German PC (at my office) my Japanese keyboard (bluetooth) is not recognized. IME are of course installed, but the keyboard and it special functions/shortcuts, which are standard for a Japanese keyboard, are not recognized and do not work. Point is that only IME as input method is recognized, Keyboard is not an option. So far I could not find how to add a new input method (keyboard).
I am thus concerned that if I receive my V in German (or English), same will happen. My keyboard cover will be only recognized as a QWERTY and not as a Japanese layout. Maybe that similar is also valid for other languages such as Chinese for example?
To resume :
From my recent experience my concern is that he Japanese keyboard that I have ordered with my V won’t be properly recognized.
==> So, in which language will be installed the V when it will knock on my door?
==> if in english for all, did uou verify that those special keyboards (japanese, Korean,…) are properly recognized as such? Did you tried and validated it for both pogo and Bluetooth connection? Since Eve’s japanese keyboard is not standard, is it fully recognized and operational(tested?)?
==> if country dependent, Since I had it purchased in Japan, will it be possible to receive it in Japanese although living in Germany for now?
PS : By the way, how is it going with the driver of the japanese keyboard? Since non-standard I am concerned that it will not be correctly recognized.
