Sorry for such as slow reply but we are really overwhelmed with preparations for the launch and answering the questions in the bigger FAQ thread. Also, it took us some time to double check how exactly it will work for businesses. As currently, we are working out deals with bigger enterprises they would buy our devices through big distributors.
Our team has guys who have been running supply chains of some of the biggest eCommerce companies. We have built our supply chain with individual consumers in mind. As we have high demand from both EU and the US we will be shipping our devices from Hong Kong which is near our manufacturing facilities in Shenzhen.
When establishing our operations our main goal was to make sure that it would take customer no more than 7 days to receive his device upon order anywhere in the EU. In order for that to happen, we use express shipping from HongKong to Europe but we have all of the relevant taxes and import duties prepaid so that the end users would not have to go through customs clearance. Basically, if you place an order from our website or IndieGoGo campaign shipping would go the same way as if you would order from Amazon UK for example.
Such shipping procedure goes under DDP incoterm. And as of today, it is not possible to claim back the import VAT if we have taken the expense for it. You can read more about it here: https://www.corintax.com/vat-refund-for-ddp-shipments-to-germany.html#Can_my_company
So no customs clearance would be involved for the end user as we will prepay all of the taxes.
You would still be able to print out the bill from our webstore and your company could write off your purchase as an expense. They would not only be able to claim the VAT back.
Hope it helps @Marlon! And sorry for the slow reply.
We are working on our B2B side too. But currently, all the focus is on B2C to ensure that community members get their Vs without hassle and in time:)
