I could use some help on deciding what dock would be best, especially since we now have a “delay” and I have time to understand what I need rather than just buy an expensive one and hope it does what I need. My Use case is mostly using the EVE V at my desk, with infrequent use for meetings, travel etc.
I have two general purpose office monitors mostly used for text, o
1x HDMI 1.4, 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz, with a USB 3.0 hub
1x portrait mode 1200x1920 used in portrait mode can run off display port/DVI/VGA. It also has a USB 2.0 hub
I need Ethernet 1GB, upto 5 USB ports.
I’ve been using a Dell D3000 USB 3.0 dock with the USB, it doesn’t provide system power.
As I understand the EVE V spec it only has power via the USB 3.2 port? And the Power is 65W.
So as far as I can see, I need a hub that provides 65w of power via USB3, has 2x HDMI ports, 1x to drive monitor 1-native mode, 1x to drive monitor 2 via an HDMI to DVI adapter.
Given none of my USB cables is used much for data intensive ops, I need a dock that I can USB 2/3 to the Monitor USB hub(s).
Seems like a fairly low tech requirement, possibly not even possibly via current dock designs. Am I missing something? Any suggestions??
