It is also super duper hard (as w/HDMI) to find a TV screen that doesn’t have the ancient RCA connections and useless analog tuners. The fact that manufacturers still include those connections, doesn’t at all mean that there is any future for them. Same for the HDMI, I think USB-C and ultimately wireless streaming will displace all those connections, as they are just that more convenient and people generally look for ultimate convenience.
Also I don’t think anyone was trying to brag about the hardware that they have but rather sharing the realities of our locales. Where I live, very rarely will you see anyone plugging a tablet or laptop into their TV. For past 2-3 years pretty much everyone got to using cheap set top boxes (Roku, Chromecast, apple tv etc.), apps built into TVs or wireless streaming from phones, tablets & laptops.
