Once more, Hi again dear community!
This time around it's not for the keyboards but something much more exciting than that! I'm obviously talking about the prototypes!
First of all, let me give you our updated timeline on how things are right now!
- 2nd of May - DVT3 testers reveive their latest prototypes with all software/hardware improvements
- 9th of May - DVT3 testers return their prototypes
As you can see we pushed the timeline back 1 week as we've now created "DVT3" units that have all the finalized hardware as well as software and we tested them so everything works fine this time now
Please note, that this did not push back the mass-production of the final units - they're still on schedule for shipping out ~10th of May!
For the prototypes we'll be sending out we had around 20 units scheduled to make sure we can send them to all of you guys & gals in @Prototypetester that did not have a chance up to this point.
However, since our partners at Microsoft, Intel and other partners asked for more units than we had planned to test the prototypes and tweak the software even further, we chose to supply them with the units.
This on the other hand means that we've got much fewer units to ship to you, and not everyone will get a chance to have their hands on a prototype. However, you can't imagine how important those prototypes are for our partners to ensure that e.g. the screen calibration works flawlessly.
The (final) people that will receive a DVT3 prototype have been contacted via PM!
For all the people in @Prototypetester that we could not offer a chance to test a prototype, we're very sorry and if we can make up for it in some way please let us know.
And finally, on a bit of a personal note I want to say a big THANKS to everyone in our community that has given us feedback on the prototypes - be it during a meetup, via PM or just writing a post.
It's this feedback that helps us make the V a flipping awesome device that in my eyes does not just hold it's ground against the 2in1's of companies like Microsoft or Asus, but shows them how things can be done even better!
