Current Setup:

CPU: Intel i7-9700K, Corsair Hydro something something AIO liquid cooler
RAM: 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB (4 x 8GB)
Mobo: Gigabyte Aorus Z390 Ultra
PSU: Corsair 750W
Case: Corsair Obsidian 500D

  • 1x 1TB NVMe Samsung SSD (OS)
  • 2x 1TB NVMe Samsung SSD RAID 0 (Games. Ridiculous, I know, but now loading times are only slowed by the CPU/GPU/Software)
  • 2x 4TB Seagate 7200RPM HDD (RAID 0)

I was debating between 2 x 16 GB 3600 MHz C16 RAM and 2 x 8 GB 4000 MHz C15 RAM. The price was pretty much the same between the two, but for now I plan to go with the higher amount of RAM. Modern games seem to scale with higher amounts of RAM. Maybe when reviews for the 5000 series comes out they may say going higher then 3800 is worth it and I will switch to the other kit.

Monitor : Eve Spectrum 1440p 240hz

So the 3600 MHz kit I ordered was marked lost this morning and got a refund from Amazon. Now it is showing as arriving tomorrow and Amazon is telling me to just keep it. I guess that decides it, 4 x 16 GB 3600 MHz C16 it is .

The difference between 32GB vs. 16GB seems quite negligible, but there should be some improvements occasionally. As the memory support for the 5000 series remains the same, the sweet spot will probably continue to be 3600MHz for the infinity fabric to sync. Congrats that you have got 64GB for half the price for your new rig!

Near Future (end of this year) Collecting it around black friday/ cyber monday.

For everyone on a tighter Budget:
You can do a lot with older and/ or used Hardware. it doesn’t always have to be the newest and shiniest

Late to the game, but I built a new rig in June-July 2020. It replaced This: Intel Core i7 Extreme 965 @ 3740.62 MHz - CPU-Z VALIDATOR

I have an unusual rig that I recently setup:

Eve V i7 512GB

Shadow Boost
CPU w/4 cores and 8 threads
256GB + 256GB expansion
GTX 1080 equivalent Quadro P5000 GPU

Connected to an Xbox One controller via Xbox wireless USB adapter

Connected to virtual machine in the cloud via wifi at 100 mbps download and 10mbps upload

Installed Steam and Epic Games Launcher

I mostly play on the Eve V display but I can also connect it to my ROG Swift PG279Q 2K monitor via USB C to HDMI adapter

What’s the Eve V like for gaming?

I must admit the Eve V looks so bad ass; before even considering gaming! Looks very nice, and portable etc.

Also I’m presuming this is the previous generation V?

I also would post my old rig, but being built 12 years ago. It’s very outdated, and currently kept in storage.

Current setup:
Viewsonic budget monitor
Lenovo ideacentre AIO touchscreen PC
Old Asus I5 laptop
