It actually is good. As I said a few posts ago, they could charge the people who want 1TB more, to offset the people who don't want to pay. Lets say there are 20 devices, and the 1TB is $200 more expensive.
The total cost would be
20 x $200 = $4000
However, only 5 people is willing to pay extra for 1TB, therefore each of them will be charged:
$4000 / 5 = $800
That brings the V i7 1TB to $1399 + $800 = $2199, still a full $400 cheaper than an equivalent SP4.
The cost is now covered. Of course, if there are more people willing to pay for 1TB, the price can come down cheaper. The rest (unlock fees) is pure profit.
