Actually if you have built a Kaby Lake product using Intel’s reference design, then the upgrade path to Coffee Lake doesn’t require a full redesign. They both are built on similar supporting infrastructure and in fact they even use the same manufacturing process (even though that is not as relevant here).
That’s one of the good things about being an Intel design partner. They have made life a lot easier over the years for hardware devs, first in the Atom space and now they are applying the same techniques to the Core Series space.
Depending on how far from the reference design the Eve V has strayed, September may actually be possible. It comes down mainly to costs and whether or not the assembly line they have access to at their production partner’s facility is already provisioned for Coffee Lake.
