Well, if in the SATA/AHCI range I think it is imperative to get the one with the max bus speed of 550/550 (or 600) mbps. I have had the old samsung/other drives with 500/300 R/W and I can feel/see the difference. I'm fine with SATA, but I'm just afraid it will sound "dull" in the market for the PF.
Fortunately, I think the SSD Gods has answered our prayers with a good NVMe in terms of price. Last week, Intel released its 600p series which promise to deliver storming performance for affordable an affordable price.
*btw, suggested price. (but if Eve could ask/resource to confirm this it'll be nice)
Personally, if possible Eve should bring NVMe to the PF. It certainly adds the WOW factor. Other than that I did find a video on LinusTechTips/Techquikie about SATA vs NVMe (in terms of controller bottlenecking performance).
I think its food for thought, and may or may not be the case. But, for the 600p price/performance, it seems too good too pass.
