A Windows product key is a 25-character code used to activate Windows. It looks like this:
PRODUCT KEY: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

Your Windows Product Key is pre-installed in V’s BIOS/UEFI

You can find it by following steps

  1. Run Windows PowerShell

  2. In Windows PowerShell interface, input the following command, then click Enter
    (Get-WmiObject -query 'select * from SoftwareLicensingService').OA3xOriginalProductKey

Powershell%20key

  1. You should be able to get your Windows product key under the command line.

worked fine :sunglasses:

#3

Is this an retail key? Can I use it on my next computer?

#4

No, it is OEM key, only works on the original device.

#5

Is the pro update also an OEM key, or can that be used to update Windows Home on my next computer?

#6

The upgrade changes the provision of the license key, it isn’t a separate key and the upgrade can’t be reused. Underneath, Windows Home and Pro are the same thing, The Professional version only means some additional features are unlocked.
