Actually if we really want to upgrade the pen, pressure levels won't help here much. Once you go above thousand, it doesnt matter. What matters, is the latency. And that, unfortunately, can only be approved by waiting for the N-TRIG tech to mature more OR switch to Wacom EMR solution that has less latency.
The community made a conscious choice to disregard the EMR in favor of better display.
I used to use 256 pressure levels pen with my Surface 3. Later on, while prototyping pens for our device (also compatible with my S3 N-TRIG) I noticed substantial improvement already with the current generation of N-Trig with 1024 levels! Actually to be completely honest, it was @Thor who really noticed it. He said "This pen is so much better than your surface pen".
I'm always so focused in drawing / writing I don't notice the issues anymore. I have a separate brain-mode for critical evaluation, which I will soon turn on
We also should remember that the V pen is equivalent in performance to SP4 (can be even better, tuning is still being done).
