Thanks to the austrian customs and the DHL Team, I finally got my prototype after more then 10days in custom clearence
So I can give you my first impressions on the DVT3 prototype and some Information regarding egpu and gaming experience.
The tablet itself Looks amazing! I the V and i already want to keep the prototype.
The Display is very bright and clear. The usability with the Touchscreen and the pen are like I now it of the Surface Pro 4.
The Body of the V Looks great. The Problem with the sharp edges and the power button should already be solved, but are existent at my prototype.
About the Keyboard I don't want to say anything, because there are already some revisions about that. The issues with the hard pressure Point of the trackpad and the bad Response at the corners of the trackpad should be solved too.
For my first Tests, I used my devil box with an RX 480. (I'll do some more Benchmarks and gaming Tests with a GTX 1070 later on)
After plugging in the USB-C Thunderbolt 3 cable, the devil box was recognized within seconds
I only had to let Windows search for some Drivers and ...
First I tried some 3Dmark Tests:
The results are nearly the same as the Asus Transformer Pro 3 got, which I testet some weeks ago. The Problem with the Asus was the active cooling and the noice of the fans. So we can be glad, to get an passive cooling solution for our Y CPU, which allows same Performance as active cooled U Systems.
Here I can't say too much at the Moment, because most of the games I want to test, are downloading over steam and origin at the moment.
For now I tried:
Counter Strike GO:
I don't want to Play it without egu. The framerate is very low, because of the HD615. Playing with egpu is no Problem for the V's cpu.
Tomorrow I wan't to try Battlefield 1 (only with egpu ). I'm concerned that won't be a Problem playing HD @ Ultra Resolution with nearly 60fps
I tried this charger, which works without problems:
Loading also works with this parts:
All parts are loading the device with an charge rate of approx. 14,5 - 16,7W (following the BatteryMon Infos).
Here is a picture of the prototype's pen. In comparision to the Surface pro 4 pen (black one) it also has an comfortable writing experience. The pen tip can be changed, but not with the Surface pen tips.
For those who prefere the surface pen because of his "rubber" end or other reasons, pairing the Surface pen with the V is no problem.
