Hmm, well we will have passive cooling, so no worries about air flow.
And may I ask, how thick is that tablet of yours? I like the idea, in fact I love it and I was one of the main people pushing this idea. But most people here want a very sleek body to bust even Surface Pro 4. We're talking about 8mm or less. And 10h+ battery life. So, as you can see, the space is pretty limited. You know, soldering components on the motherboard basically leave more space for the battery... And the reason I asked for the thickness of your device is because I think this water-tight rubber thing can take lots of space... So maybe we wouldn't be able to fit it.
Don't get me wrong, I really love the idea and would gladly sacrifice some 3mm just for this ti work. I'm fed up with having to replace the whole device if something breaks. I miss the old days of socketable (replaceable) laptop CPUs, and everything having its own slot... On the other hand, we're driven by the majority here, so if the majority prefers non-repairable but slim tablet, we'll let them have it.
Oh, and as @AntonyTerence said, this back cover could be under the kickstand. I have even done some videos illustrating that with my tablet and some sheets of paper acting as different parts
This is a slightly modified idea, the cover slides out, leaving a bit of the bottom of the device open, so that the (big) battery could be slid out. But then, there is a very limited space under the kickstand and everything probably wouldn't fit there. So, screws releasing the screen (like Acer W700) would probably be better. Sure, it's a bit more difficult, but if there's no glue, I'm happy. In the end, we don't want inexperienced users sticking their fingers in there and ruining their precious
Anyway, we will need to ask Eve guys about this.
@Konstantinos @Mike I think @orangpelupa has some very nice ideas here. What do you think?
