Well, Eve can't promise you that. They can't hack their own device, hehe But hey, maybe they could release one that boots AOSP? Not the Google Android, but the open-source project? They certainly wouldn't get help from Google, but who needs it? Screw them! Even better, why not make a phone with fully unlocked bootloader? One that can boot anything, like your computer? One that can boot from SD cards, USB drives, maybe even WiFi network! Want to install a new OS? Yeah no problem. No flashing, rooting, unbricking or other shenanigans - just plug in a USB drive with the installer. Just imagine what a revolution that would spark @ xda-developers! It would be the ultimate developer phone. @Mike @Konstantinos @iKirin what do you think? Maybe make it boot Windows Phone by default (since they appear to be less strict on certifications than Google nowadays), and let the user install AOSP easily?
Now, I know you'll say something about warranty. But if you can provide warranty for the Pyramid Flipper, where we can install any OS we want.. why can't you do the same on a phone? Screw software support. Just like with computers. It's a developer phone
Maybe there isn't a huge demand for it in this community (for now), but please take a walk around developer forums. People are tired of unlocking, rooting, losing warranty, bricking, unbricking, flashing, reflashing and flashing again, Nandroid backups that take up half of the SD card... We can get rid of it all. Who's with me?
