Hello everyone at Eve-tech and the community!
Will the V include optocouplers to isolate the USB ports from the motherboard/other hardware? It's probably too late in the development to include it now if they aren't already being included, but it might be good to consider it for future products.
There are USB thumb sticks, the most popular being the "USB Killer" that use capacitors on the stick to charge and then discharge itself at -220V through the USB port of the host (it only takes ~15V to destroy a normal USB port). It kills the motherboard and CPU of the host in a matter of seconds. Optocouplers can provide some protection from USB Killers; instead of killing the USB Port, Motherboard and CPU, it just kills the USB port. While the USB Killer might be something that wouldn't affect most people, there is the chance that people bringing their V to university or other public places can have this happen. Also, there could just be other faulty USB devices that could cause damage to computer internals. It'd be great to see more manufacturers include protection like this; I think Apple is one of the few that do.
