Notice the amount of "probably" he used. I bet he has exactly zero experience in real life, and he only assumed based on things he read. I mean, he does have good explanation in that article, thats why I linked it, but claiming it's slowing down the PC to the point where it's not worth it, is simply BS unless he's using a CPU from the 90s or something.
I bet the guy who wrote that havent tried it himself. I can tell you from experience that my Surface Pro 3 with WIMBoot still manage to get 6-7 hours battery life, totally inline with other Pro 3s. As a comparison, on the same usage scenario, my bone-stock Surface Pro 4 gets only 4-5 hours despite it has the extremely efficient Skylake chip.
As I said, try it before you judge.
